July 1st is the start of the NEW NGPF Academy year. We have exciting new features to recognize your commitment to continuous professional development and learning. Thank you to the 5,000 teachers who participated in the 23-24 NGPF Academy, completing over 70,000 hours of NGPF professional development. 

NEW for 2024-25: Introducing Achievements

Earn digital badges for reaching certain milestones in NGPF Academy, showcasing your commitment to continuous learning. 

When you visit your My NGPF Academy page, you’ll see a new section with digital badges you can earn (or may have already earned) so you can track your progress and learning. 

As in previous years, you can reach Freshperson, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior status during the Academy year for every 10 PD hours you complete, up to 40 hours. 

You’ll also see badges for:

• Attending your first Virtual PD
• Completing your first On-Demand module
• Passing your first Certification Course
• Each Certification Course you’ve completed (we offer 12)
• Earning the Distinguished Educator Award (passing at least six Certification Courses)

Earn Limited Edition Badges this Summer

Each quarter, we’ll announce additional limited edition badges you can earn within a three-month time frame. 

Badges available for Summer 2024 (Q1): 

• Summer Sprint Challenge
• Complete three hours of any type of PD by September 30th
• Summer Trifecta Challenge 
• Complete at least one of each type of PD by September 30th (minimum of one Virtual PD, one On-Demand module, and one Certification Course)

NGPF Academy offers FREE comprehensive professional development options to help you:

You are automatically enrolled when you attend your first PD.

In addition to seeing your earned badges, My NGPF Academy is where you will find:

• Transcripts to track your learning 
• PD Certificates 
• Credits accumulated
• Details on the latest PD challenges
• Zoom links for upcoming virtual sessions 

NGPF PD is Offered in Five Formats: 

• On-Demand modules: Self-paced, asynchronous modules that cover a wide range of personal finance topics
• Certification Courses: Deepen content knowledge by completing nine hours of sessions focused on a core content area with a one-hour final exam 
• Virtual PD: Live, interactive one-hour sessions, offered multiple times per week
• Virtual Conferences: Offered multiple times per year on Saturdays and feature 6-7 hours of programming at no cost
• FinCamps: A full day of in-person PD led by NGPF team members
