Dow Jones Smart Money Partners with Next Gen Personal Finance to Sponsor 1,000 Subscriptions to The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch For High School Teachers Across America

Partnership Builds On Dow Jones’s Commitment to Foster Widespread Financial Literacy Among Young Adults

NEW YORK–[SEPTEMBER 4, 2024] – Dow Jones today announced a new partnership between its comprehensive financial literacy and proficiency resource, Dow Jones Smart Money, and Next Gen
Personal Finance (“NGPF”), which sponsors high-quality curriculum and professional development workshops for more than 100,000 high school and middle school teachers. Through the agreement, the
two organizations will sponsor 1,000 subscriptions to The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch for one year for high school educators. The award-winning reporting and financial insight from Dow Jones’s
financial publications will be a valuable tool for NGPF’s Distinguished Educators across all 50 states.

With the largest portfolio of wealth and investing publications in the world, Dow Jones is uniquely positioned to inform the public with trusted, reliable financial and business information. Launched earlier this year, Dow Jones Smart Money leverages world-class reporting from Dow Jones newsrooms to close the gap in financial literacy and ensure that resources to navigate finance topics with ease and confidence are accessible to everyone. The launch of Dow Jones Smart Money in the context of NGPF’s goal to guarantee that by the year 2030, all high school students will graduate with the necessary financial skills to thrive, has led to the development of an ideal partnership.

“Learning about personal finance is crucial for students as they head into their early adulthood and beyond. Giving dedicated teachers in NGPF’s network access to best-in-class financial journalism from
The Wall Street Journal and MarketWatch will provide a whole new world of insight and analysis they can apply to text book theory,” said Joe Lanza, co-lead of Dow Jones Smart Money.

“This partnership with Dow Jones brings unparalleled real-world insights into classrooms across the U.S., empowering educators to provide students with the financial knowledge they need to confidently manage their own financial lives,” said Tim Ranzetta, co-founder of Next Gen Personal Finance.

About the Author

Tim Ranzetta

Tim's saving habits started at seven when a neighbor with a broken hip gave him a dog walking job. Her recovery, which took almost a year, resulted in Tim getting to know the bank tellers quite well (and accumulating a savings account balance of over $300!). His recent entrepreneurial adventures have included driving a shredding truck, analyzing executive compensation packages for Fortune 500 companies and helping families make better college financing decisions. After volunteering in 2010 to create and teach a personal finance program at Eastside College Prep in East Palo Alto, Tim saw firsthand the impact of an engaging and activity-based curriculum, which inspired him to start a new non-profit, Next Gen Personal Finance.
